The Stress Solution...because your people are your business

Welcome to The Stress Solution

STRESS! Yes, it certainly seems to be very much a part of modern day living, doesn’t it? The HSE define stress as "The adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures or other types of demand placed on them at work."  However, in truth, the roots of stress can go far deeper than simply a hefty work load.

Now, whilst a certain amount of stress can be beneficial - motivating, even - too much can be detrimental to health. Here are some signs of stress in individuals:

Emotional symptoms - If staff are experiencing stress-related ill health they may show some of these emotional symptoms:

• Wanting to cry much of the time (tearfulness)
• Feeling that they can't cope
• Short-temperedness at work and at home
• Irritability or anger
• Heightened sensitivity
• A Feeling that they've achieved nothing at the end of the day
• Loss of motivation and commitment
• Depressive feelings
• Anxiousness/worrying thoughts
• Frustration
• Feeling drained
• Guilt
• Feeling Neglected
• Feel there's no-one to confide in
• Loss of sense of humour / cynicism
• Low self esteem/feelings of inadequacy

Mental symptoms - If staff are stressed they may show some of these impaired thinking symptoms:

• Inability to plan, concentrate and control work
• Indecisive
• Muddled thinking
• Mind racing or going blank
• Confusion
• Poor memory
• Morbid thoughts

Changes in behaviour - If staff are stressed they may show some of these changes in behaviour:

• Eating when they're not hungry; comfort eating
• Loss of appetite
• Smoking, drinking and/or recreational drug taking to get them through the day
• Getting less work done
• Irrational behaviour/mood swings
• Poor relationships with colleagues or clients
• Verbally or physically aggressive
• Socially withdrawn at work and home
• Inflexible
• Difficulty sleeping/changes in sleep patterns
• Fidgeting/impatience
• Nervous habits (nail biting, foot tapping)
• Susceptibility to accidents
• Disregard for personal appearance
• Lack of confidence
• Increased absence from work
• Poor time management
• Denying there's a problem
• Unable to show true feelings

Do you or any of your colleagues suffer with STRESS?

If so, you’re not alone. In 2007/08 an estimated 442,000 individuals in Britain, who worked in the last year, believed that they were experiencing work-related stress at a level that was making them ill, according to the Labour Force Survey (LFS). And of course, that only accounts for the people who were actually surveyed! Estimates from the LFS also indicated that self-reported work-related stress, depression or anxiety accounted for an estimated 13.5 million lost working days in Britain in 2007/08. Information taken from the HSE website. So, who do you know who is suffering? Let’s face it, STRESS is a part of our modern world, and whilst we have to accept that, we don’t have to give in to it and let it rule our lives, causing worry, unhappiness and emotional, mental and physical ill health.

There Is An other Way!

  • Would you like to enjoy increased energy, efficiency and health?
  • Would you like to learn to let go of your unwanted emotions, such as anxiety, depression, stress, fear, anger, frustration, sadness, hurt etc…
  • Would you like to enjoy a greater sense of peace and wellbeing in life?
  • Would you like to achieve more by ‘doing’ less?

"When I first met Debby everything was going wrong and everything seemed hopeless. Career was on hold, Finances were gloomy and a number of issues were getting on top of me. I was recommended to try Debby and I did so, almost as a last resort. The results are amazing and continue to amaze, this is not a flash in the pan, one-off. Believe in what you can and will achieve and the results seem to flow in steadily. Trust in what Debby says, do as she says and the results will amaze you. I cannot recommend her strongly enough."
